At A Plus Heating & A/C, community involvement is at the heart of what we do. From helping local students gain hands-on experience through Roosevelt High School’s work-based learning program to participating in the Feel The Love initiative with Lennox, we believe in creating opportunities that make a lasting difference. Whether it’s training the next generation of HVAC professionals or providing families in need with a free home comfort system, we’re proud to give back and invest in the people who make our community strong.
In May of 2023, we hired Grant as an apprentice. Grant was 16 years old and had just finished his sophomore year at Roosevelt High School. We worked with Roosevelt and their work-based learning program to create a curriculum that would ensure the student would get hands-on experience while learning the basics of the HVAC trade. Grant continued his apprenticeship through high school, working full-time during the summer and part-time during the winter. Now, just a little over two years later, Grant has graduated from his apprenticeship and into a service technician role. This opportunity gave him a chance to gain hands-on training, school credits, and a paid apprenticeship, which has led him to a successful career with A Plus Heating & AC.
This is our first year of the Feel The Love program with Lennox. This program allows A Plus to give back to our community. The program collects nominations for a few months, and then we contractors can select a nomination and offer them a free HVAC system. Lennox provides equipment for a complete HVAC system, including a furnace and an air conditioner. A Plus donates our labor and materials to give a family in need a home comfort system completely free of charge.
